2016 CES: BMW launched i8 Mirrorless concept car

2016 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) has been officially opened, in this show, BMW brought i8 Mirrorless concept car with new digital rearview mirror technology, Mirrorless means without mirror.

Exterior mirrors on both sides of the BMW i8 Mirrorless concept car was replaced by two cameras, due to the volume is smaller, so it has better aerodynamic design. And on the top edge of the rear windshield, the car is equipped with the third camera. These three high-definition cameras to assume the functions of the traditional automotive interior rear view mirror.

Inside, the traditional interior rear view mirror was replaced by a high-resolution LCD screen, something taken by the three cameras through synthesis, will eventually be displayed on this LCD screen, it has larger rear view angles than the traditional rear view mirror, and will not has many blind spots than the traditional rear view mirror.

This system is not only used to display, also with early warning function. The system will automatically assess the captured image, speculated possible dangers and alerts, such as displaying warning identification and so on. similar to the now many high-end models with lane change assist system warning, but we believe this system may be more powerful in function.

i8 Mirrorless concept car shows technologies may be more higher, and the Extended Rearview Mirror technology based on BMW i3 models will be more People First, it is not canceled outside mirrors, only in the roof install a high-definition camera, the inside rear view mirror instead of a LCD screen, to display the footage by roof camera. This technology is combination of i8 Mirrorless technology and traditional rear view mirror, we believe that is more easier to realization and popularization.

In test, the new BMW i8 Mirrorless concept car can still use BMW ICOM series diagnostic tool to diagnosis all the system. BMW ICOM A2 is the best car diagnostic tool for diagnosing and programming BMW group vehicles including BMW, MINI,ROLLS-ROYCE and motorbike. The latest BMW ISTA software for BMW ICOM is V12.2015 build in WIN7 32 bit system support multiple languages in ISTA-D, ISTA-P and Diagram circle. It is native software with BMW Engineer tools such as E-sys, Inpa, Ediabas, NCS and so on, easy to be used, you just need insert it into laptop and press POWER button.

Recently, we learned that the new Citroen Elysee will be officially listed in early January 2016. It is reported that the new model will abandon the 4-speed automatic gearbox powered by the current models, replaced by a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

As a small facelift model, the new Elysee in body appearance, interior design an other parts is expected not be much change. In configuration, the new car will be equipped with central control LCD screen,  PM2.5 purifiers system, electric sunroof, parking radar, reverse image, the latest version ESC vehicle stability systems and so on. But about the detail configuration and change, there is no exact information, we will continue to focus.

In the power section, the new Elysee is expected to continue to equipped with 1.6L engine, the engine's maximum power of 117 horsepower and peak torque of 150 Nm. In the transmission system, the current model is equipped with 5-speed manual gearbox and 4-speed automatic gearbox. But the new car model may be will match with 5-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed automatic gearbox.

In test, the new Citroen Elysee can still use Lexia 3 with the latest diagbox 7.76 software to diagnosis all the system. The Lexia 3 PP2000 XS Evolution diagnostic tool is with full chips and brand new relays compatible works on both Citroen and Peugeot cars from 1995,supports read identification, read fault codes, clear fault codes, auto-scan etc.

Recently, we get the latest news from official sources, Lexus RC will announce the new car market guide price in Guangzhou Auto Show, while the new GS will debut at the Guangzhou auto show, and then go on sale in spring 2016.

● Lexus RC

Lexus Normal Edition RC compared to the sales of high-performance version RC F faded some radical elements, the front intake air grille use family spindle design, vertical banner intake grill with split headlights group design, make the new car looks sporty.

In power, RC200t version will be powered by a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, maximum power 245 horsepower and peak torque of 350 Nm. Transmission side, the engine will match with 8-speed automated manual gearbox. As to whether there are other power options, the current official yet to disclose.

● The new Lexus GS

Based on our message, the new Lexus GS after completed the Guangzhou auto show debut in China, then will on sale in China at the spring of 2016. Appearance, the new GS draws some design elements form GS F, such as spindle grille edges more obvious. In addition the new car equipped with the new LED headlights and taillight group. In configuration, the new car adds 12.3-inch LCD screen and other configurations.

In power, the overseas version new Lexus GS adds a new 2.0T turbocharged engine, maximum output power of 245 horsepower and peak torque of 350 Nm, match with a 8-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the new 2.0T power, the new car will be equipped with the old models used 3.5L V6 naturally aspirated engine and hybrid dynamic systems combination of 3.5L V6 engine and electric motor.

In test, above two kinds of new car all can still use Toyota IT2 to diagnosis all the system. TOYOTA / Lexus DENSO Intelligent Tester2 is with Toyota and Suzuki diagnosis Card. With the latest 10.2015 software version can diagnosis all type of Toyota(2000 to now) and Lexus included read code, clear code , data flow, action testing and guard against theft initialization function.

Under the premise of keep the speed as 110 km/h, take manual mode shift. When 8-speed 1 800 r/min shaking appears, 7-speed 2 300 r/min shake weakened, 6-speed 2 600 r/min shake completely disappeared.

Integrated test results, found shaking occurred mainly at speeds 110 km/h, the engine speed 1 800 r/min. Analyzed this time engine working condition can be seen, since the car driving produced the drag has risen to a certain extent, but the engine speed is lower, so the actual load rate of the engine is larger.

In this case, the engine torque response characteristic is poor, prone to stalling. Since the drag unchanged, slightly increase the speed, the stall phenomenon disappear immediately, that shows the engine intake system is good, the problem is mixed gas combustion bad.

Observed the fuel correction amount data when the car driving, normal, so suspected the fuel quality has problem. Extracting the fuel sample to check, found the color is abnormal, pungent odor, is low quality fuel oil.

Troubleshooting: After replacing the fuel and clean the fuel supply system, remove the adaptive value of fuel correction amount, use BMW ICOM diagnosis no fault code, test the car, confirmed troubleshooting.
